Odell Beckham Jr Completes Giants Comeback With Jersey Number Selection

Odell Beckham Jr. made an important jersey number selection following the announcement that he made the Giants' 53-man roster.

Odell Beckham Jr. made the New York Giants' initial 53-man roster on Sunday, taking another positive step toward his return to the organization that drafted him with the No. 12 overall pick in 2014. Beckham wore the No. 13 jersey through his five-year stint with the Giants to open up his NFL career. He hasn't worn that number since his stint with the Cleveland Browns, wearing the No. 3 jersey with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and throughout his 2026 preseason play with the Giants.

On Tuesday, it was officially announced that Beckham will return to the No. 13 with the Giants. "I think we all know what that means to me, and there definitely will be some conversations," Beckham told reporters on Monday. "I'll just say we'll see what happens, but like I said, it would be an honor and a privilege to put that back on." Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt previously wore No. 13 for the Giants.

Now, he'll reportedly wear the No. 81 on the New York practice squad. Beckham landed a spot on the 53-man roster after signing a veteran-minimum, one-year contract earlier this offseason, securing a depth role behind Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton and Darnell Mooney. "I know he knows he accomplished a lot," head coach John Harbaugh said of Beckham.

"It's kind of unheard of, in some ways, to be away for so long to come back. I don't know how many times this has actually been done. It would be interesting to see, but the odds were probably against him, I would say.

He overcame the odds and did it. "Now what do you do with it? And that's what he's focused on."
