After a stunning loss at Oklahoma State, Oregon rebounded with an 84-0 rout of Portland State last weekend. Dante Moore completed 19 of 23 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions, Dylan Raiola stepped in and went 11 of 11 for 124 yards and three touchdowns with zero picks, and the Ducks' offense put up 453 total yards. But it's not all good news in Eugene.
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning revealed Monday night that junior wideout Jeremiah McClellan suffered a broken foot and will now be out indefinitely. McClellan reportedly tweaked it during pregame warmups ahead of the Portland State game and was seen in street clothes wearing a walking boot on his right foot before kickoff. Louis, Missouri, committed to the Ducks in December 2023 over more than 40 other top college football programs. He saw limited playing time as a freshman in 2024, but emerged as one of Moore's top weapons last season, finishing third on the team in receiving yards (557) and receptions (38), behind receiver Malik Benson and tight end Kenyon Sadiq. With both Benson and Sadiq now in the NFL, McClellan was expected to have a big year and break out as one of Moore's go-to targets.
Instead, he'll have to look ahead to 2027, with his junior season likely done. Through the first three games of Oregon's season, he'd posted seven catches for 170 yards and a touchdown, averaging 24.3 yards per catch. The timing couldn't be worse for the Ducks, either, with Lanning's squad set to take on Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans Saturday night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
