Investigative journalist Pablo Torre is on top of the podcasting world after his investigation led to a record punishment against the Los Angeles Clippers for their attempt to circumvent the salary cap for superstar Kawhi Leonard. While baseball doesn't have a salary cap — at least, not yet — it seems one of the biggest spending teams may find itself in the "Pablo Torre Finds Out" crosshairs next. On Thursday, the podcast shared an image to social media of Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter presenting President Donald Trump a jersey when the team celebrated winning the 2025 World Series earlier this year.
The picture was accompanied by a caption that surely terrifies Dodgers fans: "New investigation. Tomorrow." Walter recently sold the Los Angeles Lakers after owning the storied franchise for only about a year, and some believe it's related to a federal probe into his companies. It would be natural to assume that Walter and his businesses are the subject of Torre's investigation, but it's also very possible that the always controversial Trump is the focus.
Of course, given the detail oriented nature of Torre and his podcast, it's likely the investigation involves some sort of interplay between Walter, the Dodgers and Trump. As the Dodgers are currently slumping in their quest for a third straight championship, the podcast could come at a truly inopportune time for LA. There's no guarantee that Torre will find anything nearly as damning as what he discovered about the Clippers and Leonard, but after the past few days, it would be hard to put it past him.
