New England Patriots star A.J. Brown will be out for the next four weeks at least, as he is being placed on injured reserve.

A new update has been provided on New England Patriots star wide receiver A.J. Brown, and it is undoubtedly a bad one. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots are placing Brown on injured reserve due to the high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

With this, Brown is officially going to be out for the next four weeks. There is no sugarcoating it: this is terrible news for the Patriots. Brown is expected to be a major part of the Patriots' offense this season, and they are now going to be without their best wide receiver for at least a decent chunk of the season with this development.

Brown being out stings even more for the Patriots when noting that they have started the season on the wrong foot and need to bounce back. However, they will now need to adjust to not having Brown available for the next four weeks at least. The Patriots' next four games are against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, and Las Vegas Raiders.

Brown made three receptions during his brief Patriots debut in Week 1 against the Seahawks, where he recorded 26 receiving yards. This was after he posted seven touchdowns, 78 receptions, and 1,003 receiving yards during this past season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
