New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas wants everyone to know that there is a huge difference between the current coaching era versus the last. And yes, he’s talking head coaches. On the field, there are dramatic differences between coach Mike Vrabel, formerly with the Tennessee Titans, and the legendary Bill Belichick – the guy who made a man out of Tom Brady.
But Douglas doesn’t start with those. He starts with the biggest difference between the two coaches OFF the field. Douglas was asked about the differences between the two eras, and he didn’t hold back.
I feel like I was walking through the halls like sweating wood, like, I was scared to talk to Bill. But like Bill, man, player coach. He been through it, he done done it so he knows.” Sure, the man has a right to strike fear in, well, everyone.
The NFL legend, who is currently in the NCAA and is the head coach of North Carolina, is a 6-time Super Bowl champion as a head coach and a 2-time Super Bowl champ as an assistant coach. He holds the NFL record for most Super Bowl appearances with 12, most playoff wins as a head coach at 31, among other things. And on Saturday, Belichick locked down his biggest college win after the Tar Heels beat Pittsburgh 21-17.
Kept battling against a good football team,” Belichick told ESPN according to NBC Sports. We made a couple big plays, and they made a couple too. They’re a good football team.”
