On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter joined "The Pat McAfee Show" and reported that Nacua might not be suspended at all during the 2026 season. "I think there's a real possibility that Puka [Nacua]'s going to go through the season unscathed and not face any discipline this season for his part in that off-the-field incident," Schefter said. "He's gonna be out there against the San Francisco 49ers.

He has not been criminally charged, and the NFL didn't place him on the Commissioner's Exempt List.
The league can still investigate the situation further and potentially discipline him under its personal conduct policy, but for now, it doesn't appear to be taking that route, according to Schefter. Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs, meanwhile, has also been the subject of much suspension debate in recent weeks due to his own legal situation. However, his case is much further along.
Jacobs was arrested in May and now faces misdemeanor charges for battery and criminal damage. The NFL placed him on the Commissioner's Exempt List while it continues to review the case, meaning he can't practice or play. This doesn't mean Nacua is 100% free from any punishment, but at least for the time being, he can head into the season opener Thursday against the 49ers with the suspension rumors put to rest.
