The Maxx Crosby offseason trade falling through seemed like a blessing for the Las Vegas Raiders after an encouraging 3-0 start. However, an NFL columnist thinks they should revisit a potential blockbuster after two straight losses. The Raiders followed a close Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with a 45-17 shellacking against the New England Patriots.
That's enough for Pete Prisco to wonder if the Raiders should attempt to move their superstar pass rusher again. Although the Raiders have defied expectations with their 3-2 start, Prisco noted they have two tough upcoming games against the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams before the trade deadline. He doesn't think they're ready to contend in 2026 and believes they're better off exploring Crosby's trade market.
"If you're going to work to the future with your young players and (Fernando) Mendoza, shouldn't you consider trading Crosby again? Because I would," Prisco said. "Because I don't think he's part of the future.
I think by the time they're good, he's not gonna be a part of it. Put it out there again at the trade deadline." Prisco identified the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys among the teams that can use pass-rushing help down the stretch. "I would put him out there and expose him to offers to see what you get back for him," Prisco said.
The Raiders agreed to trade Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks in March, but the Ravens backed out due to medical concerns. Crosby has looked healthy thus far, tallying two sacks, 18 pressures, and 13 quarterback hits in five games. Las Vegas may not want to move the longtime franchise cornerstone after a quick start to the 2026 campaign, but perhaps they would reconsider if they struggle before the Nov. 10 deadline.
