The Los Angeles Rams began the 2026 NFL season as one of the clear favorites to contend for a Super Bowl title. But now six weeks into the year, the team has posted a disappointing 2-4 record. The Rams' struggles continued with a stunning 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, who had just one win entering Sunday's Week 6 contest.
The Cardinals secured victory despite not scoring a single touchdown. Kicker Chad Ryland finished the game with six successful field goals, including a game-winning 43-yarder as time expired. When speaking to reporters postgame, Rams head coach Sean McVay came to a blunt conclusion about his team's struggles.
"We won't win a game unless we figure out how to not beat ourselves," McVay said. "So many unforced errors. So many things that are not in line with what we want to do, specifically on the offensive side of the ball." The Rams turned over the ball once in Sunday's loss, with tight end Tyler Higbee coughing up a fumble in midway through the fourth quarter.
Reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford also lost the ball on a strip sack during a two-point conversion attempt in the first half. Los Angeles will look to get its season back on track in a Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders this coming Sunday.
