Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is set to take the field for Monday night's Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Rice underwent cleanup surgery on his right knee back in May, but he now feels "100%" as the Chiefs begin their 2026 NFL campaign. Through the first few seasons of his NFL career, Rice has been utilized heavily as a slot receiver — catching many passes on slant routes and short throws.
This reputation has led to some NFL fans and analysts criticizing him for his limited route tree. When speaking to reporters on Thursday, Rice was asked if he has anything to say to those critics. "I don’t got nothing to say about that.” Through eight games in 2025, Rice reeled in 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns.
He says he has even better chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes heading into this coming season. "We are seeing ourselves get back to our full potential.” “I've pushed myself every day to get to 100%," he added. "I'm pretty sure I'm 100%, but I'm just ready to get to the game.” Monday's game will kick off at 8:15 p.m.
