The Baltimore Ravens are set to face the Atlanta Falcons for their Week 5 matchup on Sunday night. Now, as the Ravens prepare for their contest against the Falcons, they have announced some bad news regarding star quarterback Lamar Jackson. According to ESPN's Ian Rapoport, Jackson has been ruled out for the Ravens' game against the Falcons by coach Jesse Minter.
Jackson suffered an ankle injury during the Ravens' Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans. The hope was that Jackson would still be able to play Week 5, but with this update, that thought can now be forgotten. This is undoubtedly a tough blow for the Ravens, as Jackson is a massive part of their roster.
Furthermore, the Ravens are currently tied at the top of the AFC North with the Cleveland Browns. Thus, this game against the Falcons is a big one for Baltimore. With Jackson being officially ruled out, Tyler Huntley will be the Ravens' starting quarterback against the Falcons.
The seven-year NFL veteran completed eight of nine passes and threw for 63 yards in Baltimore's last game against the Titans. In four games this season with the Ravens, Jackson has thrown four touchdowns and 967 yards. This is after the two-time NFL MVP threw 21 touchdowns and 2,549 passing yards this past season for Baltimore.
