The Denver Broncos notched a thrilling 30-26 win in primetime on Sunday night, handing the Los Angeles Rams their second loss of the 2026 NFL season. The Broncos went into the locker room trailing 16-0 at halftime. But after outscoring the Rams 16-0 in the third quarter, they entered the final frame with a tie score.
Denver quarterback Bo Nix reached over the top of the line from inches out on 3rd and goal to give the Broncos what would ultimately be their game-winning touchdown score. However, a few plays earlier, there was a controversial call that got them there. On 2nd and goal with just over one minute remaining in the game, Rams cornerback Josh Wallace reeled in what could have been a game-sealing interception while defending Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant II.
But, he was flagged for defensive pass interference, moving Denver closer to the goal line with an automatic first down. Former superstar cornerback turned NFL analyst Richard Sherman was not happy about this controversial call. This stuff is so ridiculous sometimes.
So hard to play defense in this league," Sherman wrote on social media. With this loss, the Rams drop to 1-2 on the season. They'll look to bounce back in a Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles this coming Sunday.
The Broncos, now 2-1, will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4.
