New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave left practice early on Tuesday after taking a hard fall on a deep-ball route. Olave exited the field accompanied by trainers. Saints practice ended a couple plays later.
After practice, Saints head coach Kellen Moore downplayed the issue with an encouraging update on Olave's status. "Kellen Moore said Chris Olave landed hard on his back. When asked if he’s ok, he said he got the wind knocked out of him.
Asked if there was any further testing or cause for concern, Moore said the medical staff did not say anything regarding that," team insider Katherine Terrell of ESPN reported. Olave is fresh off the best season of his NFL career thus far, notching career highs in catches (100), receiving yards (1,163) and receiving touchdowns (nine) through 16 regular-season appearances in 2025. The former No. 11 overall pick signed a four-year contract extension with the Saints worth up to $132 million earlier this summer.
The Saints will close out their preseason schedule with a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. Then, they'll begin their regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 13.
