The Los Angeles Rams notched a dominant 28-6 win over the New York Giants on Monday night, despite the absence of their best offensive weapon. Puka Nacua, who appeared on the Rams' injury report with a hip issue on Friday, was ruled out of the game just 90 minutes before kickoff. This doesn't appear to be a long-term injury.
Following Monday night's primetime victory at SoFi Stadium, Rams head coach Sean McVay said he's hopeful that Nacua will be able to take the field for this coming Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. "I'm hopeful that he'll play," McVay said, via ESPN's Sarah Barshop. With Nacua sidelined, the Rams leaned heavily on veteran wide receiver Davante Adams.
The three-time First Team All-Pro receiver delivered in a big way for Los Angeles, reeling in eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Nacua didn't live up to his elite standards in Week 1, catching five passes for 74 yards and no scores in the Rams' season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He'll look to get back on track in Week 3 if he's cleared to take the field against the Broncos.
Sunday's game will kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET, marking the Rams' third primetime game of the season.
