The Chicago Sky banned former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom from the stadium following an altercation with Sky point guard Natasha Cloud late in the third quarter of a loss against the Indiana Fever. Kanter Freedom was sitting courtside in a black T-shirt that read: "WOMAN noun. adult human female." When a timeout was called, Cloud walked toward Kanter Freedom and shouted at the former No. 3 overall pick from the 2011 NBA draft who failed to make an All-Star team during his decade in the league. "[Kanter Freedom] has demonstrated to us unequivocally that he has the potential to be a threat," Sky owner Michael Alter told reporters on Tuesday night.

So that is the basis for which we will not permit him into the building until such time as he can prove otherwise," he added. Alter revealed that Kanter Freedom's manager texted Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca that the duo would be attending the game.
"You've always been fair to me, so I figured you deserved a heads up in advance," Alter read from the text sent to Pagliocca. "Enes and I will be at the Sky Game tonight. Hope you are all well." The team understood it was likely Kanter Freedom was looking to make a scene, rather than just attend the game.
"It was pretty clear to us that his purpose of coming here was trying to be provocative and just see how much attention he could get and stir up," Alter said.
