The Pittsburgh Steelers will be facing the Indianapolis Colts for their Week 5 game on Sunday afternoon. Now, as the Steelers prepare for their game against the Colts, an unfortunate update has been announced regarding their top wide receiver. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers are placing wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on short-term injured reserve.
With this news, Pittman is set to miss at least the next four weeks for the Steelers. Pittman suffered his latest foot injury during practice earlier this week. He also had a foot injury earlier this season that forced him to miss the Steelers' Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots.
Now, the Steelers are going to need to adjust with Pittman now being out of the lineup for them. The timing of this injured reserve placement is rough, as the Steelers currently have a 2-2 record and are third in the AFC North. Pittman has appeared in three games this season with the Steelers, where he has seven receptions and 89 receiving yards.
This is after he had seven touchdowns, 80 receptions, and 784 receiving yards in 17 games for the Colts last season.
