ESPN broadcasting personality Stephen A. Smith called on the Cincinnati Bengals to replace head coach Zac Taylor.

The Cincinnati Bengals are 2-2 to open the 2026 NFL season, dropping each of their last two games. The Bengals began the year with back-to-back wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans, before falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars in each of the next two weeks. The Jaguars came to Cincinnati and handed the Bengals a 22-17 loss this past Sunday.

Quarterback Joe Burrow threw two interceptions and the team's leading rusher, Chase Brown, had just 10 yards on the ground. During Tuesday morning's episode of "First Take" on ESPN, broadcast personality Stephen A. Smith called on the Bengals to fire head coach Zac Taylor.

"What has Zac Taylor done as the head coach? ... With the weapons that you have at your disposal compared to what you've actually achieved." Taylor has a 54-65-1 overall record as the Bengals' head coach for the last eight years. He led the team to a Super Bowl appearance in his third season, but hasn't returned to those heights since.

The Bengals will look to get back on track in a Week 5 matchup against the 0-4 Miami Dolphins this coming Sunday.
