Thanasis Antetokounmpo has found a new team following his seven-year stint alongside his brother Giannis with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo is leaving the NBA ahead of the 2026-27 season, signing a three-year contract with Greek club ARIS Thessaloniki, according to a report from Eurohoops. The deal is for two seasons, with a club option for the third year. Antetokounmpo spent each of the last seven seasons as a deep bench player for the Milwaukee Bucks, playing alongside his superstar brother, Giannis.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was traded to the Miami Heat earlier this offseason, beginning a new chapter of his NBA career. While Thanasis will no longer play alongside Giannis, he'll reunite with his other brother, Kostas, as teammates for ARIS Thessaloniki in their home country of Greece. Thanasis appeared in 230 games over his career with the Bucks, averaging 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds through 7.2 minutes per game.

He was on the roster when Giannis led Milwaukee to its NBA championship as Finals MVP in 2021. Thanasis admitted that Giannis' move to Miami was "hard" for him. "The crazy part is, I didn't know.

I didn't know," Thanasis said. "That's his business, and that's what he wants to do. In terms of my reaction, I'm still adjusting.

"It's hard and exciting at the same time," he added. "And whoever says it's not, then you're not human."
