Tom + Lorenzo recap the 45th annual CFDAs red carpet as only they can.

Everyone always says that the Met Gala is fashion’s biggest night, but for our money, if you really want to see celebrities trying to outdo each other and impress the world of fashion with their style, the CFDA Awards is where it’s at. The Met Gala is a fashion parade, but the CFDAs are more of a fashion battle. After all, wouldn’t you want to impress the Council of Fashion Designers of America?

Let’s see who won the fashion war this year and who had to retreat and regroup for next time. Here are our picks for the best and worst of the night. We certainly don’t have a problem with chic, elegant restraint in style, but we do think you need to do something with it to make it red carpet-ready. There’s nothing wrong with plainly pretty, but a metallic shoe, a pendant, some hair with a little life to it—all of these would improve the look, we think.
