Tyreek Hill is ready to return after his brutal season-ending injury last year, and according to his agent, he should be on an NFL roster very soon. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus planned to begin negotiating with "multiple" NFL teams on Monday. Based on Rosenhaus's remarks, a deal could be reached this week.
"I would anticipate Tyreek potentially signing with a team over the next few days," Hill's agent said, per Schefter. A potential team that might sign Hill following yesterday's injury woes is the Kansas City Chiefs. That would reunite him with Patrick Mahomes and the team he first played for in the NFL, which won Super Bowl LIV.
On Sunday, the Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in a hard-fought game, but they also saw Tyquan Thornton carted off the field after suffering a gruesome ankle injury. Thornton was having a huge game, too, with 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Rashee Rice also exited that game against the Raiders with a hamstring injury.
Those were the team's two best receivers through the first four games this season. Bringing Hill back to the Chiefs could be a significant boost amid those injuries if Kansas City decides to add him to what could be a roster contending for another Super Bowl. Hill is returning after suffering a brutal injury in Week 4 last season while playing for the Miami Dolphins.
He underwent season-ending surgery to repair his dislocated knee and multiple torn ligaments, including his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The Dolphins released him in February, opening the door for Hill to prepare for a return in the 2026 season with a new team. He had career-best seasons in 2022 and 2023 with the Dolphins, racking up over 1,700 receiving yards in each season.
Hill also topped 1,000 receiving yards in four of his six seasons with Kansas City and recorded 62 touchdowns during his Chiefs seasons, most of them on passes from superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Time will tell if Hill reunites with the Chiefs, or another team makes a better deal to add the eight-time Pro Bowl selection to their roster.
