The WNBA announced that the league's 2027 All-Star weekend will be hosted by the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center.

The WNBA announced on Tuesday that the league's 2027 All-Star weekend will be hosted by the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center. The shooting skills challenge and 3-point competition will be held on July 30, then the All-Star Game will be played on July 31. "The Golden State Valkyries have brought incredible energy and excitement to the WNBA from the moment they were announced as an expansion team in 2023, and the response from fans across the Bay Area has been remarkable," WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement.

"Valkyries fans have embraced this team with an extraordinary level of passion and enthusiasm, and we can't wait to see that energy on full display for an unforgettable All-Star weekend next summer." The Valkyries started competing in the WNBA last season, earning two playoff berths in two seasons. The franchise also leads the WNBA in attendance and has recorded 41 consecutive sellouts at the Chase Center. Additionally, the Valkyries became the first women's sports franchise to reach a value of more than $1 billion in May.

"San Francisco is the center of the sports world," Mayor Daniel Lurie said in a statement. "The world can see that San Francisco is the place to be. When the WNBA's best come next year, our unmatched passion for women's sports, and our city's comeback, will be on full display." The Bay Area has hosted multiple major sporting events in recent years, including the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup in the last year.

The Chase Center held the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend, and MLB will be hosting its All-Star Weekend in San Francisco in 2028.
