The New York Yankees have provided a big update regarding Aaron Judge ahead of their series against the Colorado Rockies. The Yankees have announced that they have activated Judge from the 60-day injured list. In addition, the Yankees shared that they have designated pitcher Chase Hampton for assignment.
Judge has not played for the Yankees since their May 31 game against the Athletics due to a right rib stress fracture. Now, with this news, the superstar slugger is ready to return for New York. The Yankees have missed Judge's offense tremendously since he got sidelined, so it is undoubtedly great news for them that he has been activated from the injured list.
This is especially so when noting that the Boston Red Sox are right behind them for the top wild card spot in the American League. Now, the Yankees will be hoping that Judge's return helps them end the regular season on a high note. They are still within striking distance of catching the Tampa Bay Rays for the first-place spot in the AL East, as they are four games behind them.
Due to this, it is excellent that Judge is returning at this stage of the campaign. In 59 games this season with the Yankees, Judge has posted 17 home runs, 38 RBI, and a .248 batting average. This is after he recorded 53 home runs, 114 RBI, and a .331 batting average in 152 games for New York last season.
