Yehuda Levi (“A Body that Works”) stars in a new international action-thriller “The Escape” for Keshet International. Set deep in the Colombian jungle, the eight-episode series, titled “Ha’Bricha” in Hebrew, centers around the scion of a religious cult leader who manages to flee but is forced to leave behind his wife and child. Once on the outside, he teams up with ex-Mossad operative Carmeli (Levi) to bring them to safety.
But it soon turns out the cult has an unholy alliance with a drug cartel and any rescue attempt will start a war.Ido Tako (“The Vanishing Soldier”) co-stars as cult escapee Yoel, Naya Bienstock as his wife Feigy, newcomer Roy Shachar Kremerman as his young son Nachman and Mark Ivanir (“Homeland”) as his father and charismatic cult leader. Filmed on location in Colombia, Georgia, and Israel, “The Escape” was created and written by Ariel Cohen (“The Golem”) for Keshet 12 alongside Yoav and Doron Paz (“The Golem,” “Plan A”), who also direct. Keshet International is globally distributing the tape and format.
