Trade speculation about Marvin Harrison Jr. has continued to build amid a discouraging start to the 2026 season. Adam Schefter reported on "Sunday NFL Countdown" that the Arizona Cardinals are "doing their due diligence" in trade conversations regarding Harrison. However, they're not "enthralled" by the prospect of moving the struggling wide receiver.
Few observers could have anticipated Harrison surfacing as a trade candidate so early in his career when the Cardinals made him the No. 4 pick in 2024. The son of Hall of Fame wideout Marvin Harrison Sr. entered the league to considerable hype but has yet to deliver, recording 107 catches for 1,566 yards and 12 touchdowns in 32 career games. Harrison Jr. hasn't made much of an impact this season, catching four of nine targets for 73 yards in three games.
The 24-year-old didn't touch the ball in a Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Schefer's ESPN colleagues also raised the possibility of a Harrison trade this week. Dan Graziano wrote that some teams believe Arizona will make him available since he doesn't fit their current offense, but the Cardinals "have given no indication that they are eager or even interested in trading Harrison." Jeremy Fowler delivered a sobering prognosis on Harrison's current market value.
One team estimated that the former Ohio State star would draw "a quality Day 3 pick." "Harrison is a player to monitor closer to the deadline," Fowler wrote. "Teams are still trying to assess what has happened with someone who seemed like a slam dunk out of Ohio State. 'I don't think one scout expected this. I didn't see all the drops and lack of competing [in college],' one team evaluator pointed out. 'Very weird.
Probably needs a fresh start. Looks too big for him right now."' Harrison will attempt to rebound when the Cardinals play the New York Giants in Week 4.
