The Kansas City Chiefs won a nail-biter Sunday night over the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts came out strong with a short touchdown pass from Daniel Jones to Tyler Warren on the first drive of the game, but the Chiefs answered every time. Travis Kelce looked spry, finishing with a game-high 101 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine catches, while Kenneth Walker again dominated the ground game, rushing for 117 yards on 24 carries and adding 61 receiving yards on six catches.
After the game went to overtime, both teams traded field goals before Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker put it away with a 40-yard game-winner, giving Kansas City a 33-30 win at Arrowhead. But speaking after the game, head coach Andy Reid saved some of his praise for another Chiefs player: undrafted rookie left tackle Kahlil Benson. "There were a couple of hiccups in there, but he was going against a good player, and I thought he did a decent job," Reid said.

Patriots Benson, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound rookie, isn't new to being overlooked. He was only a three-star recruit in high school and received just a handful of offers before committing to Indiana in 2020. Even after joining the Hoosiers, he tore his ACL and missed his first two seasons with the team.
Benson returned in 2023 and started all 12 games, allowing just one sack on 424 pass attempts. He then transferred to Colorado, where he played under Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, appearing in nine games with four starts across different spots on the offensive line, including right tackle, right guard, and left guard. He transferred back to Indiana for the 2025 season and won a national championship under Curt Cignetti.

Now just two games into the regular season, he looks like one of the league's best young players, and a potential building block for Kansas City.
