Former Raiders QB Derek Carr makes a bold prediction about Las Vegas' struggling rushing attack under Klint Kubiak.

The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled to establish a consistent rushing attack this season, but former quarterback Derek Carr believes the team's offensive struggles won't last forever. Carr recently expressed confidence in head coach Klint Kubiak and his coaching staff, suggesting the Raiders could eventually develop one of the NFL's most productive offenses. Speaking on the Home Grown podcast, Carr acknowledged the team's struggles while emphasizing his familiarity with Kubiak, offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko and offensive line coach Rick Dennison.

"The run game hasn't been going well yet," Carr said. However, Carr believes the coaching staff has the experience and knowledge necessary to turn things around. The former Raiders quarterback even suggested Las Vegas could eventually develop an offense capable of scoring 50 points in a game once the players become comfortable with the system.

Carr acknowledged that the improvement might not happen immediately, noting that additional personnel changes could be necessary. His comments come as the Raiders continue searching for answers despite making significant investments in their running game. Running back Ashton Jeanty, the sixth overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, has struggled to produce consistently during his second season.

Through five games, Jeanty has rushed for 291 yards while averaging 3.3 yards per carry. The former Boise State standout has also battled ankle and foot injuries, although the team's rushing problems extend beyond his health. Las Vegas is averaging just 3.0 yards per rushing attempt, the lowest mark in the league.

The Raiders have also struggled to create running lanes, frequently forcing Jeanty to navigate defenders before reaching the line of scrimmage. Kubiak has acknowledged the team's shortcomings and accepted responsibility for finding solutions. Despite the early struggles, Carr remains confident that Kubiak and his coaching staff can turn things around.

The Raiders will have another opportunity to get better Sunday when they face the Buffalo Bills. Establishing a consistent rushing attack could be especially important against a team capable of putting points on the board quickly. For Las Vegas, the challenge is finding a way to turn that potential into production on the field.
