Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels made headlines Sunday when he suffered a shocking left elbow dislocation during the team's 37-20 loss vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn talked with media members Monday and ruled Daniels out for Washington's Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. Veteran Marcus Mariota will be under center for the Commanders on Sunday vs. the Seahawks, but one Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback claimed Monday that he once had an identical injury to Daniels' and didn't miss any games.
Kurt Warner said during Monday's episode of "NFL Live" that because the injury was to Daniels' non-throwing arm, he believes the latter could play through the issue. Warner spent the final five years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, including the 2007 campaign. The four-time Pro Bowler began that season as the Cardinals' backup to No. 10 overall pick Matt Leinart but took over the starting gig in Week 6.
Warner suffered his injury in the first quarter of his first start of the campaign on Oct. 14 against the Carolina Panthers but was back in Week 7 vs. The 55-year-old started the final 11 contests of the year for Arizona, led the Cardinals to their only Super Bowl appearance during the 2008 season and retired following the 2009 campaign. Warner ended the 2007 season with a 62.3 completion percentage for 3,417 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 17 interceptions across 14 games.
