Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen delivered a confident message about the fumble issues for running back James Cook.

The Buffalo Bills notched a thrilling overtime victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night, securing a 37-34 final score at SoFi Stadium. Bills running back James Cook finished the game with an excellent stat line, recording 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. However, the veteran ball carrier also coughed up two fumbles.

Cook's second fumble occurred on the Bills' first possession of overtime, handing the ball over to Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense for a chance to win the game. Fortunately for Cook, he was saved by a blocked field goal from Greg Rousseau. Josh Allen and the Bills then worked their way down the field to set up a game-winning field goal from Tyler Bass.

On Wednesday, Allen was asked about how he views Cook's fumble struggles moving forward in the 2026 NFL season. He understands what defenses are gonna try to do now. Ball security is of utmost importance, myself included," Allen told reporters.

The Bills are now 4-1 as they prepare for this coming Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Sunday's game will kick off at 4:25 p.m.
