The LSU Tigers took care of business in their first two games, with commanding wins over Clemson and Louisiana Tech, both at home. But now Lane Kiffin leads his Tigers into enemy territory: Oxford, Mississippi. It's the highly anticipated SEC showdown between Kiffin and his former team, the same Ole Miss program he walked out on right before the College Football Playoff last year to take over at LSU.
Both teams, along with the rest of the college football world, have had this one circled on their calendars for months. But Kiffin made it clear on Monday that Ole Miss is the one under pressure, not LSU. "The pressure is on them," Kiffin reportedly told his players.
"We won seven games last year. They returned two Heisman candidates. The pressure is not on you.
"I know a lot has been made about me, but this is about the players being prepared very well. I'm not gonna tackle anybody. I'm not gonna throw any touchdowns," Kiffin added.

He posted three straight double-digit win campaigns from 2023 to 2025 and was the reason Ole Miss made the CFP last season, the first time in program history the Rebels had done so. But many of the players Kiffin recruited to Ole Miss are still with the team and are ready to prove him wrong for abandoning them, including star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy, and wide receiver Deuce Alexander.
Kiffin can say all he likes, but noise is all there will be come Saturday. The Rebels enter undefeated at 2-0 as well after a 41-38 nail-biter over Louisville in the season opener and a dominant 41-9 win over Charlotte last Saturday. Both games were at home, but for as loud as the environment was then, you can bet 70,000+ fans will have Vaught-Hemingway Stadium rocking on Saturday night.
