After last season's injury woes for their offense, the New York Giants had multiple players return to the field in Week 1, including their talented wide receiver Malik Nabers. Nabers played in just four games last season due to suffering a torn ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers. After two surgeries and the lengthy rehabilitation process, Nabers was back to practices and played in his first NFL game since last September's brutal injury took him out.
However, his decision to play arrived close to the game's start, with Nabers saying he decided about two hours before kickoff. After the game, he explained what factored into his playing in his team's season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys. "The deciding factor was I just felt good.

You gotta do it yourself. I didn't want my family here, didn't want to let them down by not playing," the Giants receiver told reporters. Nabers, who was the Giants' No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, said he had to play for himself first to "feel it out" in his first game back in a year.
In addition to suffering a torn ACL, he also had a full meniscus repair and dealt with knee stiffness, per ESPN's report in May. The Giants went on to defeat their division rival, Dallas, 28-20, and Nabers appeared back on track. The third-year player finished with six catches for 69 yards, as second-best Giants receiver of the game behind teammate Isaiah Likely.
In addition to Nabers' return, Cam Skattebo returned from his injury last season, and finished with 18 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Seeing both players back and starring in a win is a welcome sight for Giants fans, who had plenty of struggles last season. They'll visit the Los Angeles Rams for "Monday Night Football" on Monday, Sept. 21, in what could be a challenging matchup after Los Angeles' tough season-opening loss in Australia.
