While the Rebels came out on top with this big-time top-10 win, star running back Kewan Lacy was knocked out of the game with a left shoulder injury. It appears Ole Miss avoided any serious long-term injury for their elite offensive weapon.
Lacy underwent MRI testing on Sunday and is not expected to miss any significant time, according to a report from college football insider Pete Thamel. However, his status for this coming Saturday's matchup against the Florida Gators is in question. "Sources: Ole Miss star running back Kewan Lacy had an MRI on his shoulder today, and the injury is not expected to be long term.
He’s uncertain for the game at Florida on Saturday, as he’ll be monitored this week to gauge his recovery," Thamel reported. Lacy took nine carries for 43 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game in the third quarter. He has 191 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on the season thus far.
Ole Miss will kick off against Florida at 3:30 p.m.
