Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins missed practice on Wednesday after being knocked to the ground by defensive lineman Adin Huntington on Tuesday. The team did not disclose what the issue with Judkins was after practice, and the issue was compounded on Thursday after the second year pro was once again not seen practicing. "Browns Quinshon Judkins, who sat out Wednesday after the chippy Tuesday, hasn’t been seen yet outside for the joint practice with the Bills", Mary Kay Cabot reported on Thursday.
In the afternoon after practice, head coach Todd Monken finally addressed the Judkins situation, and made an interesting revelation in doing so. "Browns Monken said Quinshon Judkins is dealing with a nagging injury. Said it didn’t have to do with the chippiness of Tuesday.
Said he’s not worried bc it’s only 2 idle days", Cabot posted on X. The nature of the "nagging" injury was not stated, but Monken's words and broader tone imply that the situation is far from being severe or worrisome to the extent that the Ohio State man might not be ready for the start of the regular season. Per Zac Jackson, Judkins did not practice, "Out of precaution … I think we were smart with where he’s at.” Unless the injury continues to nag, or there are unfortunate material changes, it would appear that signs are pointing to the fact that the team can expect Judkins back by early next week at the earliest – although a specific timeline has not been given by Monken or another member of staff at this point.
Judkins will be looking to build upon a very solid rookie season that had him start 14 games and rush for 827 yards on 230 attempts, scoring 7 touchdowns in the process. He also managed 26 receptions for 171 receiving yards.
