Ahead of the season opener, the Los Angeles Rams are hosting fan events in Australia to help build excitement around the game.

The Los Angeles Rams will be part of NFL history when it plays the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia. This will be the first time an NFL regular-season game has been played in Australia. Ahead of the season opener on Sept. 11, the Rams are hosting multiple fan events in Australia to help build excitement around the game.

The Rams are turning the Southbank Riverwalk into a fan zone where people can experience the atmosphere of a Rams' game at SoFi Stadium. Additionally, fans can watch the game from The Deck, which is a 22-yard long floating football field with a giant television screen. Select schools will also be able to participate in the Rams' inaugural Flag Football Community Day.

"This partnership brings the energy and excitement of Los Angeles Rams football to the heart of Melbourne. Crown will be home base – from the Riverwalk fan zone to exclusive events across the resort – delivering the kind of atmosphere and access you'd expect for such a milestone sporting event," said Crown Melbourne CEO, Ed Domingo. The Rams want to expand their fanbase internationally and have already made efforts to connect with Australian fans over the past four years.

"This is about more than a game. It's an opportunity to build on our efforts over the past four years in Australia to deepen our connection with our fans, showcase the energy and culture that make NFL football so special, and create lasting connections with local communities," said VP/Head of International, Stephanie Cheng. "Whether you're a lifelong supporter or completely new to the sport, we've designed a week of activity to give everyone a chance to get involved and be part of NFL history in Australia." The NFL also wants to expand internationally in the future.

There are nine regular-season games scheduled to be played across different countries this season, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently said he expects the league to eventually have international expansion teams.
