Seahawks' Mike Macdonald Addresses Jadarian Price Injury Scare

Mike Macdonald addressed Jadarian Price's shoulder injury after the Seahawks rookie left Sunday's blowout win over the Cardinals.

The Seattle Seahawks are 2-0 to start the season despite losing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker in the offseason and starting quarterback Sam Darnold in Week 1 against the Patriots. Darnold went down with a glute injury and is currently ramping up to return either in Week 3 or 4. But while the team has held strong without Darnold, another injury to a key offensive player has taken center stage: rookie running back Jadarian Price.

Price left Sunday's game against the Cardinals with what was initially diagnosed as a chest injury. However, head coach Mike Macdonald reported Monday that it's actually a shoulder injury, and that it's "intact and nothing serious." It was a nearly even split between him and backup George Holani.

In Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals, a 31-7 rout in Arizona, Price carried the ball 13 times for 52 yards, along with one reception for eight yards. The Seahawks have clearly been easing Price into the bigger workload fans were hoping to see with Zach Charbonnet still working his way back from a torn ACL. Price has yet to get his first NFL touchdown and continues to split work with other backs, with Emanuel Wilson leading all players on Sunday with 92 rushing yards on 21 carries.

Still, Seattle will want to get Price rolling with a difficult upcoming schedule against the Commanders, Chargers, 49ers, Broncos, and Chiefs. Monday's injury update suggests he won't miss much time, if any.
