Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off another great season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning his second consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player Award. And based on his past season, the NBA 2K27 video game has tied him for the highest player rating among active players, revealing that SGA is rated at 97 overall in next month's release. He averaged 31.1 points, a career-high 6.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game last season.
Additionally, he had a career-high 55.3% field goal percentage and averaged 1.4 steals per game as the Thunder won the Western Conference once again. As mentioned, SGA was tied with two other players with that 97 rating. In addition, MVP contenders Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Nikola Jokic received 97s for the new video game, and rightfully so.

For Jokic, he's been one for multiple seasons now, but Wemby is on his rise to superstardom in just three seasons. The Spurs star won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year and led a young Spurs team to the NBA Finals.
They ultimately fell to the New York Knicks, but Wemby's impending greatness seems inevitable. Jokic, a three-time MVP, once again led Denver to the playoffs and achieved All-NBA First Team honors for the sixth time in his career. He has shown an all-around game, with consistency as a threat to not only achieve nightly double-doubles but also triple-doubles due to racking up rebounds and dishing assists to teammates.
The Nuggets' big man is on pace to break the all-time triple-doubles record, currently held by Russell Westbrook, who announced his retirement from the NBA last week. Westbrook retired with a record 209 triple-doubles, while Jokic currently has 198 and is second on the NBA's all-time list. In many of the popular sports games, including NBA 2K, players' ratings can fluctuate over the course of a season.
They'll either rise if they perform at a high level or drop if they falter along the way. It'd be surprising if any of these three players had that sort of serious regression, but it's possible they could dip lower as someone below them rises this season. Among those players below them in the 2K27 ratings are Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic, who is playing his first season without LeBron James on the roster.
