Downdetector showed more than 17,000 user reports flagging problems with website loading, app performance, and server connections, while Twitch Support acknowledged widespread instability across web, chat and video services. Reports have since decreased.
The spike coincided with massive traffic from top creators like Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed, who streamed live reactions to the 26‑minute trailer for viewers without Netflix access. ET, both streamers’ pages were inaccessible, fueling speculation that the outage was tied to the trailer’s release. Newsweek reached out to Twitch for comment.
