Forwards James Wilson and Findlay Curtis have left the Scotland squad in order to play for the Under-21 team against Azerbaijan on Wednesday. Hearts striker Wilson and Rangers winger Curtis had been training in Spain as part of the 27-strong group selected by new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli but will now miss the Nations League matches away to Slovenia and at home to Switzerland on Saturday and Tuesday. The duo could return to the senior set up for for the 3 October trip to North Macedonia and the home game with Slovenia three days later.
The Under-21s are away to Bulgaria on the same day as the latter fixture. Wilson, who has scored five Hearts goals this season, became Scotland's youngest men's international player at 18 years and 17 days old when he won the first of his two caps as a substitute against Greece in March 2025. Curtis has made five Scotland appearances and is the nation's youngest World Cup player after late cameos against Haiti and Brazil in the USA this summer.
