New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodón and his wife, Ashley Rodón, hosted their third annual Willow Gala on Monday night at Skylight at The Refinery in Williamsburg. The event raised more than $1 million for families dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss. Multiple of Rodón's Yankees teammates also attended the event on Monday.
Across the last three years, Rodón and his wife have helped 59 families afford fertility treatments. Three babies have been born and 14 more are expected as a result of their efforts, according to the New York Post. Before having their first daughter, Willow, in 2020, Rodón and his wife experienced two miscarriages.
The experiences motivated them to create The Carlos Rodón and the annual Willow Gala. You don’t understand how hard it is to make a child.” The foundation also offers the Willow Grant, which provides up to $20,000 to families going through fertility treatment. According to the New York Post, 36 families are currently utilizing the Willow Grant.
