The Kansas City Chiefs notched a 33-30 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night, ending the contest on a game-winning field goal from Harrison Butker. Butker went 4/5 on field goal attempts and 3/3 on extra points. He hit both of his field goal attempts in overtime to extend the Chiefs' 2026 record to 2-0.
Last season, Butker connected on 86.8% of his field goal attempts and a career-low 88.6% of his extra point attempts as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs. After Sunday night's game, Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones sent a blunt message for those who've criticized his kicker. "Y'all as a whole doubted my kicker last year and I just got two middle fingers to y'all.
I love [Butker] and I trust in [Butker]. I think [Butker] is the best kicker in the league," Jones said to reporters postgame, via reporter Mark Poulose. "Two middle fingers to anyone who doubts my kicker." Butker went 1/1 on field goals and 4/4 on extra points in the Chiefs' season-opening win over the Denver Broncos last weekend.
This coming weekend, Kansas City will play its first away game of the year against the Miami Dolphins. Sunday's Week 3 matchup against Miami will kick off at 1 p.m.
