The New York Giants got positive injury updates on a host of crucial players on Thursday.

With quarterback Jaxson Dart already out for the rest of the season, the New York Giants can't afford to lose any more starters to injury. So, when starting running back Cam Skattebo (shoulder), wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) and others appeared on the team's injury report Wednesday, fans had reason to be concerned about Big Blue's offense before the Week 5 matchup versus the Washington Commanders. Skattebo shed his non-contact jersey during Thursday's practice, however, and Nabers was back on the field as well.

The star duo were joined by a host of other Giants players who missed Wednesday's session but returned on Thursday. Thursday's update comes as Commanders starting quarterback Jayden Daniels is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday after missing the last two games due to a dislocated left elbow. Nabers and Skattebo are arguably quarterback Jameis Winston's two biggest weapons on offense, with the former pacing New York in receiving yards (208) this season and the latter leading in yards from scrimmage (302), among other categories.

The Giants have weathered the storm since Dart suffered his season-ending injury in Week 2. New York was blown out by the Los Angeles Rams that game but has bounced back with victories over the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals in Weeks 3 and 4, respectively. The Cardinals and Titans are a combined 1-7 this year and the Giants' upcoming schedule doesn't look daunting either.

New York will play Washington (1-3) on the road and host the New Orleans Saints (1-3) in Week 6, before facing the Houston Texans (0-4) in Texas in Week 7. The Giants currently lead the NFC East and could realistically be 6-1 entering their Week 8 bye.
