All the United States Pennsylvania Scranton Jason Miller Statue The Pulitzer Prize winning writer and actor from “The Exorcist,” Jason Miller, is immortalized with a statue that contains his ashes. In 2009 Jason Miller, who played Father Karras in The Exorcist and won a Pulitzer Prize for writing That Championship Season, was immortalized forever with his bronze statue in Scranton Courthouse Square. Miller was also in such notable films as Rudy, Toy Soldiers, Light of Day, and The Best Little Girl In The World.
He will always be remembered as the tormented young priest in The Exorcist film starring Linda Blair. Miller who lived in Scranton, suffered and died from a heart attack at a local nearby restaurant. Fellow actor and good friend, Paul Sorvino, spent years making the bust of Miller, and was there for its unveiling.
Miller was never buried and Sorvino had some of his ashes mixed in the bronze bust. Local legend and lure has it that weird and eery occurrences happen by the statue, and it is included on many local ghost tours.
